Another Forty Years

I’m feeling alive
Seeing as these things that happen
Are as fleeting as starlight
Dead when they reach
Alive in a blink
Spread over a billion years
Where we are not even
A blip in the radar
Still in this second-like existence
There was you
Oh wonderful you
The touch of your lips
Can fill my entire universe
And free me from the sphere
Of things temporal.
